Ultrasonic Sensors

Sound bounces off clear plastic, black rubber, and shiny foil the same way, and dust or mist barely changes the reading. Eight distance series sorted by housing and range, plus a fork sensor for labels that optical sensors can't see.

U1RT Ultrasonic Sensors in R Format

U1RT puts ultrasonic sensing in wenglor's compact R housing, which mounts with an M18 metal thread and needs little installation depth. It can be configured over IO-Link 1.1, or with no power applied over NFC from the wenglor app.

Key Specifications:

  • Range: up to 1,200 mm reflex, 2,000 mm through-beam
  • Housing: compact R format, M18 mount, IP67/IP68
  • Outputs: 2 × PNP or NPN, plus error output

  • Smallest label gap: 2 mm
  • Belt speed: up to 250 m/min
  • Response time: 0.25 ms; IP67
Applications: Presence and position check of labels on hygiene products, Detecting transparent, metallized or glossy labels where optical sensors struggle, Label detection when label and carrier have almost the same optical properties, Label dispensing in packaging, food and logistics lines
